Recorded video can be edited with any video editing software, including the likes of Adobe Premier, Sony Vegas and even Windows Movie Maker. That said, one of the latest NVIDIA GeForce cards is required to use ShadowPlay. By default ShadowPlay records videos in 1920x1080 (1080p) resolution at 60 FPS framerate using hardware H.264 encoding capabilities found in GeForce 600 and 700 series graphics cards.
